| The Honourable Anthony
Hylton is a Lawyer, Businessman and former Member of
Parliament from 1993 - 2002. He is presently
Ambassador and Special Envoy of the Most Honourable
Prime Minister. He was educated at - University of
London, LLM London Institute of World Affairs, Dip.
In Air and Space Law Georgetown University,
Washington D.C., J.D. Morgan State University,
Baltimore. M.D, B.A. Kingston College, Jamaica
Yallahs Primary School Ambassador Hylton has held
the positions of Parliamentary Secretary, Minister
of State and Minister of Foreign Trade in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade
(1993-2001), Minister of Mining and Energy
(2001-2002).
He is regarded as a skilled Negotiator and
International Trade Specialist who emerged as a
leading figure in negotiations in the World Trade
Organization (WTO); the European Union/African,
Caribbean and Pacific (EU/ACP) Cotonou Agreement,
the FTAA and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
For his work on the negotiation of the Cotonou
Agreement he was awarded National Honour by the
Government of Benin.
Ambassador Hylton was associated with several
leading law firms in the United States of America
before returning to Jamaica.
He was appointed Executive Director of Legal and
Foreign Affairs in the Policy Review Unit in the
Office of the Prime Minister until 1993 when he
successfully contested the West St. Thomas
parliamentary seat.
He is an avid domino player and also enjoys
listening to music, writing and debating.
